CBS Interactive New York Office
Behind The Design
CBS Interactive, a division of CBS Corporation, is the premier online content network for information and entertainment. With more than 280 million people visiting its properties each month, CBS Interactive is a top Web property globally. Its portfolio of leading brands, which include CNET, CBS.com, CBSNews.com, CBSSports.com, GameSpot, TV.com, TVGuide.com and Last.fm, span popular categories like technology, entertainment, sports, news and gaming.
Design 3’s design approach was to provide a dynamic work environment that help inspire creativity and innovation, improve workflow and, promote open communication while incorporating the ‘pulse’ of NYC in its design aesthetics through the use of reclaimed materials such as wood, brick, metal and concrete.
Spaces were designed to foster interaction. Casual collaboration areas, phone booth sofas, bench seating allowed for spontaneous conversation and brainstorming. Incandescent-like LED lighting and random splashes of color were also used to create visual zones all throughout the office. Lifestyle amenities like billiard table, foosball and open-pantries with seating that doubled as work areas were added to reflect needs for well-being and interaction.
Design 3’s goal was to design an office space that reflected the company’s upbeat energy and evolving ‘culture’.
